And the boys fight it, but I dont think they hate it as much as they think they do.
Kyan and Tatum. The heat between these 2! And they are both so stubborn.
He keeps telling her his truths and then ruins it all again.
“So if you’re looking for someone to save, then you’re looking in the wrong place with me.”
“I’m not looking for someone to save, Kyan,”
I think he is the one who did the least to her, but is the one she feels safest with to get back at.
I wasn’t frightened of him. I wanted to see how far I could push him before he snapped.

Blake is sweet right now. A big teddy bear who tries to keep the peace between the psycho of Saint and the aggression of Kyan (even the indifference of Monroe)
"Im never going to let you go,” he said, his voice holding a vow in it that made a shiver of fear run through me....“ I will run away the moment I get the chance. And I will get the chance, Blake.” He clutched me tighter, a growl in his throat. “Then you’d better run fast, sweetheart, because I’ve never lost a race in my life.”
Even Saint is coming around.
My heart was pounding to a blinding rhythm as the demon in me did a fucking backflip in excitement and I could only stare at her as I tried to drink in the fact that she wanted this too.
She sees his crazy and accepts it, she keeps giving him what he needs. The way she relinquished control for him. It is for her too.... but it's something she does for him.
“I feel like the demon in me will burn me alive from the inside out sometimes,”
... she disagreed. “You just feel like that because your ritual has been sabotaged... You just need to take back control.”
Tatum finds out her father killed her sister by giving her the vaccine. But hes her father. She hasn't been able to even process that. And she's too afraid to tell anyone. She plans to run away to him (I wonder if that is how this book will end)
The boys are starting to become people worth having her with them.
Blake is starting to be the caregiver
Kyan gives his truth to her and wants to protect her
Saint makes control his love language
Nash/Monroe, is still the teacher and neither of them know what to do about that.
Nash/Monroe is being as a$s now too. He should be the adult or not. If hes a adult he doesn't take his feeling out on Tatum. And he is her friend first, and followa through with that. This is when I wish the characters were older.
Then there is Tatums stalker, I think it is d33pthroat stalking her, and the poems/flowers and stealing her underwear? I think another unspeakable, maybe Bait? Or Toby?
They need to actually tell Tatum what d33pthroat did. Sure some of the unspeakable are there because of bullying. But not all of them.
The boys need to step up and actually start treating her as theirs, not forcing her to bow for them.
Forcing her is leaving her free to be targeted, their too stuck in their heads to see what they caused. Even Nash/Monroe was too stuck up in his head to be her friend that she could share with.
It's like the 4 of them are all circling Tatum and no one wants to be the vulnerable one. They all try to make Tatum vulnerable to make themselves feel stronger. But that's just the mask.
For a Why Choose to really work, each dyad needs to compliment each other in different ways. What you get/need/give from one partner may be completely different from what you get/need/give to another partner.
Its all developing, but not quite there yet.
Im not sure who I'm rooting for first (because why choose one 😉). Saint it totally growing on me, but I think he'll be last.
Kyan is the one I think she needs. The truthful one. Blake she was already with, and Monroe will hold out... but he is the one on the cover of this book.... so maybe he'll be first?
