Kings of Anarchy Chapter 4-5

Yes Saint was a lousy patient. Hit by a car and shot and then tries pushing weights? Tries to get back to norm
"All of this makes me feel so fucking...mortal"

But Tatum is there with him. Everything looks like it's changed... for now. I wish it magically changed everything... but we are at the beginning of book 3 and I know there isn't a HEA until the very end!
Tatum caring for Saint because she ... cares... or because she owes him for trying to save her.

The man had nearly died to save me after all.

Tatum just knows what her Kings need. You dont learn that level of detail without a reason, and it's not revenge anymore.

"What's the time?" he demanded, panic in his eyes. I glanced at the clock behind me on the nightstand and frowned as I saw it was three minutes to nine. "Nine am," I said immediately. "Liar," he hissed, trying to crane his neck to look at it himself, but I moved to block his view.

She needs something from Saint too though. And only he can give it to her.

I needed Saint to take over and tell me what to do right now because I had no idea how to put one foot in front of the other knowing my dad was no longer in the world

It's a flip that now she needs all all the rules that she bristles so much against before. Monroe tries to stop them controlling her and I think that helps him to realize too.

These 2 chapters are long, about about an hour each. And Saint, Blake and Kyan have big roles here. Monroe fades in the background a bit more right now. Just trying to adult the other Kings a bit more.

But Monroe and Tatum also have to explain themselves. He helped her escape from them. It ended in a blood bath and a way for the Kings to further show Tatum their devotion to her. But they didnt know that at the start.

I thought there would be more punishment. I'm actually surprised they didnt kill him (hes a brother so I know they won't... but I think they wanted to on the drive to find them). And I know there other 3 Kings felt betrayed by them both.
I love how Tatum didnt lie to them when they asked if she would leave.

She trusts Monroe, he believed and helped her without question, without exploiting her or wanting something in return. Something none of the other Kings can give her.
She shares her father's papers. At least they see it. Im sure it will disappear if they give it to Saint's father.

One of the things I like about the Twisted Sisters writing, is that the main characters are often wrong. They believe something so completely... and it isn't what is actually happening.
I didnt realize how much I thought the narration of a story is always true, until I started reading these authors. I think it's called an unreliable narrator.
I may have gotten even for everything they’d put me through, but I would always just be their little possession.

Tatum completely believes this. But the Kings have been showing her this isn't true, without actually coming out and saying it... or maybe they do. It depends on what "owning" means.

Now my teddy bear Blake comes closest. I love he is the first to say the words (I dont think Monroe did, but I could be... an unreliable narrator)

I love you, Tate. I fucking love you. And I'd let you go if I was better, it's what you deserve. They say that's what love is. But it's not for me. My love is selfish and dirty and I will do whatever it takes to keep you right here.

And Tatum fights hard not to fall for them.

Then we get into Kyans story and his messed up family. But this is where we make the connection to Royaume D’élite, and learn what Kyan had to do over the summer.
And you just feel his shame about it, and how accepting Tatum is, like she soothes his soul.

He’d offered me a piece of his soul in that kiss and I’d offered him mine in return.

But our Tatum can hold her own with the vipers. The 'disaggreement' over smoking had me laughing out loud! Just consequences for actions lol

I think they are also going to take down Kyans family. I know there are 2 other sets of books in this United States of Anarchy, so Im not sure if that will involve the bother storylines.
What I want?  The family coming together for their wedding and the Kings decimating all of them.  And its been hinted at

"Your heart is showing. I didn't realise you had one until you started bleeding so much," I mused. "I’m bound to you, Tatum, dead or alive. And I would stand between you and the fires of hell to protect what is mine.

The spice is heating up in these books as shes accepting her Kings.
They haven't talked about the rules again. Maybe after Christmas break?
